Part of Jay Sae Jung Oh’s ongoing Salvage series, this planter transforms discarded household objects into a unified sculptural form through the artist’s intricate process of hand-wrapping the assemblage in leather. By obscuring the manufactured objects beneath its surface, the work gives new material and aesthetic value to the overlooked and obsolete, reflecting on contemporary cultures of abundance, consumption, and waste.
