It is not necessary to stand directly in front of, 2 Splits with Jonquil Gems, as one does with a painting. Instead, the column shape offers 180-degree access to its surface, so each viewer’s location holds equal value. As one moves, the gems reveal specific sparks of light and color particular to each person's vantage point--shifting slightly to the left or right yields a new set of reflections and colors. This act of moving underscore's one’s visual particularity, and by extension, ones physicality as a body, mentality as someone who thinks and spirituality as someone who feels.
