A-frame 2.0 Master Bedroom

We’re back today with the last room update of the A-frame 2.0 and how I re-designed it for the new owners! The master bedroom has to be my favorite, so much so that I like it even better now over how I furnished it for ourselves. It might have something to do with dreamy bed, or the rug (ok it definitely does), but for sure it is the earthy but rich color palette.

We chose Portola’s Lime Wash finish in Etcetera for the walls, which is the perfect subtle blush with some depth, and paired it with the deep rust bedding from Flaneur (aka Cinnamon Stick). Apparently I really like a statement bed. This stunner, and the one I had in the room previously, pretty much make the room. Sweet dreams to Caroline and Jayden, I hope you enjoy your new pad!

and if that isn’t enough… I know the new crew has been working on finishing a couple of the spaces that we didn’t get to before we sold it. They are giving what we used as an old storage shed a big overhaul and they also fulfilled our pool dreams that we had for the space so stay tuned!

A-frame 2.0 Laundry

Continuing on with the tour of the “A-frame 2.0” (aka how we re-styled it for the new owners, Caroline, Jayden and Robert)… we have the laundry room with a quick update. New wallpaper, new rug, and a couple new accessories give this little space that packs a punch, a whole new feel.

It sure has come along way… take a peek back at my finished reveal to see the real “before my before” photos. ew!

A-frame 2.0 – Den Bedroom

Back with the next room of our old A-frame 2.0 and how we re-decorated the space for the new owners! This room is the little den bedroom just off of the living room. You might remember the DIY headboard I had in there previously and how we added the vertical paneling to cover some horrendous walls. We glammed it up a bit for Caroline, Jayden and Robert, but the boho vibes are still strong too.

This is the original board for the re-design, by the time it went to the procuring, the side tables were sold out and we had to swap the rug but I love how this pretty pad with a nod to the mod turned out. See how I designed this space before, for us, and the before of the before here. Which is your fave?

A-frame Finished Kitchen Update!

a-frame finished kitchen renovation semihandmade sarah sherman samuel As promised, I wanted to finally share the final images of our A-frame kitchen! We put the last final touches in the room like a rug and, most importantly, the hardware (from Ikea!) and you might also notice that we upgraded the cabinet fronts to my SSS signature collection with Semihandmade! Just in time for us to sell the house. Wha whaaa ha! But I love having the detail of the grooves and how it elevates the whole space with that extra layer of subtle pattern. And since we already had the Ikea cabinets in there, it was a super easy update by just swapping out the doors.

If you’re dying for the green color you can always go with Semi-handmade’s DIY route, like what I had in here before and paint the fronts or have them painted to whatever color you wish. It’s a big deal to get a custom color done with thermafoil and to get it to pass Semihandmade’s high quality standards, so it’s still a work in progress at the moment.

But lucky for the new buyer! And actually lucky for me too, because we happen to be friends with the new owners and will still be revisiting this place in the future! (are you sensing a trend? We also revisit our Michigan cabin each summer even though we sold it a few years back. What can I say, I get attached. ha) Anyway… I’m excited to share that Caroline and Jayden (of team Woodnote) and her brother Robert are the proud new owners of #samuelaframe! You might remember them because they are also part owners of light lab the creative space I designed a couple years back and that wasn’t even the first time we worked together. You might also remember they shot one of the very first lookbooks from my product line, which was then called “a sunny afternoon” and we also have our print collab too!

I will be sure to update this post with a live link when they are ready for renters and since we will be taking most of the furniture with us you guys will get to follow along on how we are going to make this space a whole lot more colorful to fit Caroline, Jayden & Robert’s more bold and playful aesthetic. That’s right we are going to go ahead and redecorate the whole place. Stay tuned! Oh and more on our future family plans soon too!

A-frame Kitchen Before & After

We finished our A-frame cabin awhile back, just in time for the Sunset Mag cover shoot in August (still pinching myself on that) but we had quite the busy end of the year trying to wrap up a bunch of projects before our Clover girls’ arrival and I realized I never got a chance to share the full kitchen reveal!

Well almost full reveal. We still haven’t put hardware on the cabinets because I had the hardest time deciding and now that I designed my own, I can’t wait to get over there and put them on. I am also dying to put a rug down in there as well, but you get the picture. I’ll share the fully styled photos when I have them but I wanted to post these before I make an exciting announcement tomorrow! Plus I HAD to share this before and after. It is definitely one of the more dramatic transformations.  READ MORE
