smitten studio in Martha Stewart Weddings

martha stewart weddings // smitten studioI’m so excited to finally share this wedding I designed that’s in the pages of this months Martha Stewart Weddings! You may remember (but probably not because it was about a year and a half ago) me working on some pieces for the wedding here and here. My dear longtime friend, Anne was the bride and I am so happy that I was able to be a part of her big day by standing up as one of the matrons of honor as well as designing the event from top to bottom.

One of my favorite pieces I made for their wedding was this textile that hung over a fireplace during the reception. The bride and groom (Anne and Shane) are pictured above holding it’s edges. Anne & Shane collected photos of both of their families and I created silhouettes of each family member from the photos, essentially making a pictorial family tree.

Her wedding also took place while I was developing A Sunny Afternoon so I was able to provide custom fabric napkins for each place setting that featured 4 coordinating patterns.

from the weekend: a besties wedding

04.21.13weekendThis weekend one of my nearest and dearest got married. It’s the best thing being able to contribute to a friends wedding day… it just seems all the more special when you are designing for someone you love. You know how they say food tastes better when it is made with love? Well, in the same vein, I think my table runners, paper goods, and even the smilebooth props looked extra good that night. :). Congrats to Bea & John.

from the weekend: santa monica wedding

9.10-weekendThis weekend we had our first local wedding of the bunch that took place at the Annenberg Beach House in Santa Monica. It is always fun seeing a couples style through their wedding and this one was beautifully modern, festive, fun and very relaxed.

9.02-weekend Amberley castle

9.02-weekend english weddingWe spent this weekend taking a little road trip around southern England that included a night at Amberley Castle for Rupert’s sisters wedding. It was an elegant and classically English affair in a fairy tale setting.

from the weekend: wedding fun

8.25-weekendThis weekend one of my all time favorite couples walked down the aisle and said their “I do’s”. I was also the designer behind the wedding so it was a busy busy weekend making all the final touches etc. Everything came together beautifully and the bride was BEYOND stunning. I can’t wait to share the photos of the evening but for now you can see a few sneak peeks of the night here, through my instagram feed.
