pattern spy: painterly brush strokes

pattern spy painted brush strokes

Maybe it is my background in painting (When I first went to college I started taking classes towards a BFA degree in painting before switching to graphic design two years in), but I love a good heavy brushstroke pattern.

pattern spy: snakeskin

pattern spy snakeskinInspired by my snakeskin style post, here is a round up of all things serpentine. I could definitely find a place in my life for each of these pieces… especially that Clare Vivier bag that I have been drooling over for much too long now.

Pattern Spy: Horses

pattern-spy-horsesThis week’s pattern spy is for all you equestrian lovers out there.

I have had my eye on this gorgeous stationery set from Rifle Paper for a while now, and thought it would be a great anchor for a horse themed round-up. So, here it is… go buck wild! (har har)

1: Horse Mini Skirt from Asos  //  2: Rifle Paper Stationery Set  //  3: Vintage Bronze Bookends

pattern spy: florals on black

patternspy-florals-on-blackThis round up was inspired by the black floral jeans I wore here. The deep jewel toned colors of all these florals combined with their black backgrounds are giving me some great ideas of how to keep floral prints going through the fall.

pattern spy: bow ties

pattern-spy-bow-tiesThis freaking adorable Kate Spade dress was my easy favorite from their upcoming Spring 2013 collection and while I was reminiscing about my 30th birthday over the weekend I remembered how I used men’s bow ties as napkin holders/party favors which kinda made me wish I had that dress at the time! … or maybe I will just have to use it as a good excuse to throw another party. In the meantime I am also wishing I could make this Rene Daniels painting mine.

pattern spy: foxes

Pattern-spy-foxesI don’t know what it is about foxes, but they are so freaking adorable. Aubin & Wills have always supplied me with some fox love (you can see their foxy tea towels in my cabin kitchen here) and even though I am cheating with including Henry the Fox in the round up (since he isn’t exactly a fox pattern), I couldn’t resist… how could you possibly say no to that sweet face?

1: Fox Blouse by Aubin & Wills // 2: Henry the Fox by Walnut Animal Society // 3: Cosmetic bag by Tory Burch
