I probably say this with every new space but this might go down as one of my all time favorite bathrooms I’ve designed. The color palette, the fixtures and the extra special floor, I just can’t wait for it to all come to life. So many little details went into this room and a little finish selection like shown above only scratches the surface of what awent into a bathroom design but it really is the cherry on top and gives you a great glimpse into how this space is going to turn out.
But before we get into the details… let’s take a look back at where we started.
I’ve been working with a client in Palm Springs to furnish a newly renovated house and we are coming up on the final install so I thought I’d share the design board for the living area. She had a few pieces already in place, like the sofa and the butterfly chair, so jumping off from there I created this modern/warm/boho living space. It’s a second home/will be a rental home, so we kept things neutral in the main space, layering up on natural textures for a tranquil easy on the eyes vibe. We were also restricted to pieces that could be purchased online and easily delivered since the owner and I have both been working remotely other than a couple quick site visits. Oh and don’t worry there is color going into the rest of the home which I will share soon!
Since the little one arrived, I have been spending a whole lot of extra time in the bedroom, nursing, napping, recovering… and thought it was about time I give a proper tour of the space. I made a couple changes since the last update, and lord knows it has come a long way from the hole in our backyard. I finally found the perfect nightstands, and I hung those dip-dyed indigo curtains that I made, during my indigo dye-fest a while back. Hope you enjoy the space!
I couldn’t be happier with how the curtains turned out, they really warm up the space and add a bit of color without being too overwhelming. Oh and P.S. I used Ikea curtains!
The nightstands are from West Elm and happened to have the exact measurements that I was looking for. I also love the delicate look of the gold and glass which off sets the darker wood of the sconces and the dresser. I know they aren’t exactly kid friendly but in the master bedroom I think that is allowed, for now at least. :)
