12 leather accent chairs

round up // best leather accent chairs // sarah sherman samuelIt doesn’t matter the room, I swear… 9 times out of 10 a leather accent chair is the answer. I LOVE a good leather chair and through my searches for the perfect pair for the A-frame, I rounded up 12 of swoon worthy seats that have one thing in common. Beautiful, natural… leather.

12 round coffee tables

12 best round coffee tables // sarah sherman samuelRecently, I’ve been finding myself searching for round coffee tables… for my own spaces (for the a-frame and in our baby-proofed house) and for a couple clients. I love that a round coffee table can break up the lines of a room that has mostly straight angles or booxy shapes and a major bonus is they are more kid friendly. So, from my searches, I have put together a whole lot of great ones… 12 favorites, to be exact.

shopping for a console table & entry update

modern console table round-up // smitten studioI’m in the market for a new console table for our entryway, so I’ve scoured the internet for my favorite modern options. You may remember how the space looked before (below) while we were using an existing piece of furniture for the entry table. While I did love the storage, the proportions weren’t great for the space. It stuck out into a walkway a bit too far (too deep) and we also wish it was a lot longer (too squat).

Entryway smitten studioI have since moved the wall hanging to a different spot in the house, repurposed the bar in the spare bedroom, and the gave the rug a new home in the den. So basically, we are starting again from scratch. Below is a peek at how it is coming along and where the console will sit.

entryway progress // smitten studioThe one item I did get so far was this oversized mirror to hang above the console. We had it custom made by a local glass & shower company at the same time that they made our glass shower enclosure (bathroom update soon). We also switched out the door for a more modern wood option (don’t mind the painters tape on the glass we are mid-project on staining and finishing the door). I love how the wood breaks up the white walls. So what do you think? Which long, skinny console would you pick?

shopping for a modern chandelier

chandelier shopping // smitten studioRemember when our house looked like this. It was after phase one of the kitchen renovation and when we were still trying to make the house look like it wasn’t all under construction (and before we gave up that pipe dream in our third month of the major renovation). You will be able to see how we’ve been living lately in the next post, but I wanted to take a look at this for my chandelier shopping needs.

I am sure we all can agree that lighting makes such a difference in a house. I have a real weakness for beautiful modern chandeliers. I could lose hours (and I already have) happily shopping for the perfect one. Here are my top picks!

modern chandeliers - round up // smitten studioLucky for me (not so lucky for the pocketbook) I have places for THREE different chandeliers! Two you’ll see in the photo above, one over the dining table and one to replace the ceiling fan, and the third will be in the master bedroom.

modern chandeliers - round up // smitten studioOne of my favorite sources for lighting is 1st Dibs, they have so many amazing vintage lamps. Of course most are way out of my budget, but it still helps to narrow down the style I want and it also makes me think doing a DIY like this one or this one, might also be a great option.
Which ones are your favorites?
