Goodbye wall, hello art. A peek into Clover’s nursery

Thank you to Shutterfly for sponsoring this post! All opinions are my own.

neutral nursery and kids art // sarah sherman samuelThe rest of the house is in complete shambles but we managed to carve out this little space for Clover in the meantime. I used a painters tape to create the pattern on the wall, the whole thing took me only a couple of hours to do (even though it looks like a few minutes on my IG stories), but the best part about this room is that it celebrates the season we are in right now. We had some custom art and home décor printed through Shutterfly using the artwork that Archie, along with his friends and cousins that have visited us in our first month here, created on the wall in our living room. We have since torn that wall down but before we said goodbye to it I took photos of the entire mural and then used pieces and portions of it to make the printed art canvases, blankets, and pillows.

Mandy Moore Guest Bedroom Tour

I already shared a peek into this guest bedroom from Mandy Moore’s house a while back, but we were missing some final touches like the art and mirror so I’m happy to share the photos of the finished space! It’s light and inviting, mostly neutral but with just a touch of blush and a pop of cranberry. Bold brass geometric accents like the nightstands, sconces and mirror are balanced out by the natural wood on the bed and dresser, as well as the textures of the layered cream bedding. It ticks all the guest room boxes.

our cross country move & how we survived

This post is sponsored by American Express. Thank you for supporting our partnering brands!

If you guys have been following me on Instagram, you might have caught a glimpse of our recent cross-country road-trip. Rupert and I bought a new (old) house in Michigan, packed up our Los Angeles house (the photo above was just days before we left), rented it out and drove from Los Angeles, California to Grand Rapids, Michigan with a 3 year old, a 6 month old and two dogs. 11 days on the road, 10 nights of packing and un-packing a hotel room (because with babies it seems like you need 10,000 things just to survive), 46 hours in the car and 2,765 miles. To say it was challenging would be an understatement but in the effort to simplify our lives and slow down a bit, for our family, we are moving out of the city and into the woods.

As a business owner, mother, and an LA transplant, on and off the road, I am all about seeking simplicity and get thrilled about anything that can make my life easier. Grocery delivery? I’m in! Valet parking? Check!… Apps for everything? yep… A credit card with intuitive Cash Back rewards? Yes Please! So, I am partnering with American Express to share our route, some tips on how we made it through getting from point A above to point B and why we love the new American Express Cash Magnet™ Card.
