home progress: main bath renovation

bathroom renovation // tile progress The tile is DONEZO, (woo hoo!) aka grouted and finished, and I am completely in love with the subtle textural pattern created by matching the grout color to the tile. It is a clean slate, ready to have the fixtures installed and accessories added.

I was a bit hesitant to paint the door and trim so dark but I really like how it turned out, gives it just a bit of drama. You can also just see the new linen closet/cabinet tucked in the corner which is where the old tiny shower was. The space is now much more utilized with the cabinet for extra storage.

from the weekend: the waiting game

venice beach pierOur hospital bag is packed, car seat is in the car, and we’ve made most of the necessary preparations for baby samuel’s arrival… and now we wait. At 38+ weeks I could still be waiting for a few weeks and maybe that will give me some time to finish the nursery, (will be sharing the plans in there this week!) and maybe it won’t, but I am totally ok with that. I hope you guys haven’t given up on me sharing the nursery design. ha! The bathroom project kind of took over but I promise it will be something good. For now, you will find me taking long walks (like this refueling one by the sea), eating spicy food, and sipping raspberry leaf tea, because nursery ready or not, I’m ready to have this little guy on the outside. :)

Hope you had a great weekend. Did any of you veg out and watch the Grammys? I only made it halfway through, so I can’t say it was all that exciting, apart from Pharrell maybe, but have the rest DVR’d.

my (bump) style: 37+ weeks

dressing the bump // pea in the pod // 37 weeks dressing the bump // pea in the pod // 37 weeks With just a few weeks to go until our due date, lately I’ve been spending most of my days close to home while we prepare for baby’s arrival. A good pair of maternity jeans and a T-shirt or my trusty black dress (which I also got in blue) have literally been all I’ve been wearing. Both work great for everyday comfort and if the occasion does arise for me to adventure out, I just throw on a jacket and a bangle or two and head out the door.

At the beginning I bought a couple of cheap pairs and I was only able to wear them a few times before they became SO uncomfortable. About mid-way through I got this pair and only wished I had had them from the beginning! These ones go over the belly and the waist band is SO stretchy that in my 9th month they still feel like I am wearing comfy leggings but have the look of normal designer jeans. THE BEST! SO although they are expensive, if you can swing it, I’d say its well worth the extra comfort and you will most likely LIVE in them.
