New-years-eve-dinner3-640Happy New Year! I blinked my eyes and 2015 was over!

I decided to wait until the final holiday (Bachelor Premier Monday, of course) to get back to work, so here we are…. happy Tuesday. 🙂 To celebrate the new year we had a few friends over for an intimate dinner in the still completely naked studio. I brought in our old dining table from storage, rented a few white chairs, put on my sparkle pants, and threw together some decor from things I had around the house (aside from the sequin table cloth and noise makers which I ordered the day before thanks to good old Amazon Prime. I really never have to leave the house… ever).

It would have been a crime not to take a few snaps and now I get to share just how simple it can be to set a New Years Eve worthy table.

I stuck with white plates and white napkins, keeping all the different shades of gold and just a touch of silver, as the only color. Keeping things monochromatic, yet again. I pulled out gold chargers and layered on the simple plates, then napkins, and then the most amazing vintage brass flatware I found last year at a vintage shop in Michigan. I also pulled out the gold disco ball ornaments which I planned to attach names to, as place settings, but accidentally skipped that step. They still looked cute on the plate though. 🙂 Some candles, terrariums, and various gold bits and bobs from my house created the centerpiece along with some paper fringe and confetti from my craft box.

I also made the wall hanging the morning of, which is WAY easier than it looks (details soon). The final touch was placing these stickers on the floor in the entryway to greet our friends, and hang the disco ball!  Archer just started taking steps on his own so I was chasing him around most of the day, but managed to squeeze this in during his naps.

All in all it was a pretty great night (it definitely made up for my being sick over Christmas), I even surprised myself and made it to midnight.

I hope you have a really wonderful 2016 full of great successes, so much love, and time spent with your people. xo Oh and here is my other wish for us all.
