After a 100 degree Palm Springs day in the sun, Rupert and I hit the Parker for dinner … this was my date night attire.

from the weekend: palm springs & found type

6.15-weekend the ace palm springs

I’m back at work today after swapping the marine layer on the west side of LA for 100 degree sunshine in Palm Springs. I battled a floppy sun hat at the Ace and found some pretty type on the sidewalk.

Happy Friday

This week was an extra busy one at work and at home so I am particularly ready for a little break. Rupert and I booked a quick last minute trip to Palm Springs this morning and I can’t wait to spend some time relaxing in the sun. TGIF for reaaaal!

in the kitchen with bea 2

Bea came up with another yummy creation that I got to happily indulge in… her apricot tart is perfect as a fresh summer dessert.

progress: new flooring

flooring progresscabin flooring progressHere is a peek at the flooring while we were putting it in. After scraping off all of the old floor tiles and laying down the underlayment, the new floor went in relativley quickly.

cabin flooring progress 2This photo perfectly illustrates what any onlooker would see at any point of the day on our recent trip to the cabin. I wasn’t kidding when I said we made a lot of progress or that we worked until we couldn’t move and this is a glimpse into how it happened. At the moment this photo was taken my dad was busy putting up trim while my mom was painting and all while Rupe and I were putting in the floors.

cabin floors installed TA – DA! and they are done. While it is in need of a major clean up job (as is every other surface in the cabin), at least it is all in.

To see the old floor check here and to see the full progression of the cabin so far, look here.
